The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has further strengthened its operational readiness with the successful graduation of 15 officers and airmen of the Communication and Information Systems (CIS) speciality from the Nigerian Air Force Type Rating Course (NAFTRAC) 1/2026 at 041 CIS Depot, Shasha. The hands-on training enhanced participants’ skills in the management and maintenance of CIS equipment, with all 15 successfully completing the course.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony on 11 September 2026, the Commander, 041 CIS Depot, Air Commodore DU Edet, highlighted the importance of specialised technical manpower to equipment reliability and operational effectiveness, while appreciating the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, for his sustained emphasis on mission-focused training and human-capacity development. The Special Guest of Honour, Brigadier General AA Alkali, Commandant, Nigerian Army Dog Centre, Lagos, charged the graduands to apply their expertise to improve communications support and operational efficiency.

The graduation reinforces the NAF’s commitment to developing a technically competent and mission-ready workforce capable of sustaining reliable communications support across its operations. By investing in specialised skills, the NAF continues to build a more connected, responsive and operationally effective force, skilled people, reliable systems, stronger operational readiness.
