In commemoration of the 2025 International Day of Education, the Nigerian Air Force Officers Wives Association (NAFOWA) has extended a helping hand to indigent students of Junior Secondary School, Asokoro, Abuja. The association distributed essential educational materials, including school bags, writing materials, textbooks, and a cheque for school fees payment, to support students in their academic journey.
Speaking at the event, NAFOWA President, Arch. Mrs. Rakiya Abubakar, highlighted the significance of education in unlocking opportunities and transforming lives. She encouraged the students to stay committed to their studies, emphasizing that learning equips them with the tools to overcome challenges and build a brighter future.
"As an NGO, we understand the importance of education, and we believe in extending this gesture beyond the military community to encourage students in neighboring schools," she said.
Expressing his appreciation, the school’s principal, Malam Jafaru Madaki, thanked NAFOWA for choosing JSS Asokoro for this noble initiative. He noted that the support would make a huge difference, especially for students whose parents struggle to afford school supplies.
