The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on 4 December 2025, received His Excellency Tomáš Výprachtický, the new Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Nigeria, alongside a delegation from Aero Vodochody, on a courtesy visit to Headquarters Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

During the visit, Aero Vodochody delivered a presentation on its capabilities, followed by discussions focused on strengthening defence cooperation between both countries with a view to boosting NAF airpower modernisation. Key areas included the future of the NAF’s L-39 fleet, the L-410 NG multipurpose aircraft, as well as projections for surveillance systems, satellite technologies, UAV solutions for border security, and specialised training support aimed at enhancing the NAF’s operational capacity.

In his remarks, the CAS welcomed the Ambassador, commended the Czech Republic for its sustained partnership, and reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to expanding collaboration in aircraft sustainment, capability development, and technology-driven solutions. He emphasised that the deepening cooperation between both countries will further support the NAF’s drive to deliver smarter airpower and strengthen effectiveness in ongoing Counter-Insurgency operations.
