BACKGROUND
Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdulkadir was born on 20 Jun 70. He hails from Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa. He was enlisted into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of 40th Regular Course where he obtained Bachelor of Science Degree in Maths. He was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force as a pilot officer on 25 Sep 93.
He started his military carrier as an Aircraft Engr having been trained on Engine and Airframe in the then Technical Training Group Kaduna. He later proceeded to 301 HAG FTS Kaduna and became a pilot and multi engine aircraft captain. As an accomplished pilot, AVM Abdulkadir has flown over 3000 hours on various NAF platforms. Among the aircraft flown are the ABT-18, DA42 MPP, DO 228, Citation II and Hawker 4000. Owing to his disposition, he has steadily progressed through the ranks. The senior officer was promoted to the enviable rank of Air Vice Marshal wef Dec 2020.

AVM Abdulkadir has attended several flying and non-flying courses both home and abroad. Some of these include:
Joint Service Command and Staff Course in the United Kingdom and National Defence College in the Philippines.
Masters Degree in Defence Studies and National Security Administration in Kings College London
National Defence University in Philippines respectively.
OTHERS
Air Vice Marshal Abdulkadir hold an ATPL and is happily married with children. His hobbies include reading and sports.
