BACKGROUND
BACKGROUND
Air Vice Marshal Francis Edosa was born on 13 May 1970 in Benin City of Edo State in Nigeria. He was admitted into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of the 41st Regular Course in September 1989 and was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force as a Pilot Officer in September 1994 with a Bachelors of Engineering Degree in Electrical/Electronics.
DECORATIONS.
The senior officer is the recipient of the following awards and medals. They include;
Distinguished Service Star (DSS).
General Service Medal (GSM).
Pass Staff Course.
Fellow Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS).
Master of Arts International Security and Strategy (MA ISS).
Field Command Medal (FCM).
COURSES ATTENDED.
Air Vice Marshal Edosa has attended several courses at home and abroad. Some of which are primary flying course at 301 (now 401) Flying Training School, Kaduna; Basic flying course at 303 (now 403) Flying Training School, Kano; Instructor pilot course at Oxford Aviation Academy, United Kingdom and aircraft accident investigator course at the Singapore Aviation Academy, Singapore. He is also a graduate of the prestigious Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji. The very senior officer had his Defence College in the Royal College of Defence Studies, London as well as King’s College London where he earned a Master of Arts Degree in International Security and Strategy.
APPOINTMENTS HELD:
Air Vice Marshal Edosa has held several appointments including, the Commanding Officer Primary Flying Training Wing at 301 (now 401) Flying Training School, Kaduna, Wing Chief Operations 011 Presidential Air Fleet, Abuja, Commander 307 Executive Airlift Group, Abuja, Commander 403 Flying Training School, Kano, the very Senior Officer has held several directors’ appointments in Headquarters Nigerian Air Force. Such as Director of Safety, Director of Research and Development, Director of Training and Director of Operations. The 44TH Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command, Nigerian Air Force. He is presently the Chief of Training and Operations, HQ NAF, Abuja.
OPERATIONS PARTICIPATED:
The senior officer’s operational experience includes several tours in Operations ZAMAN LAFIYA, LAFIYA DOLE (now HADIN KAI), SHARAN DAJI, DELTA SAFE and HADARIN DAJI OPS amongst others. It might interest you to know that the senior officer has over 4,000 flying hours to his credit.
AC TYPE-RATING:
Air Vice Marshal Edosa is a qualified instructor pilot who has flown several aircraft types some of which are the Air Beetle (ABT-18), L-39ZA, Piper PA-28, Tampico TB-9, Zlin 124, Dornier Do-228, King Air 350 and the Falcon 900B aircraft.
The senior officer is happily married and blessed with 3 children. He enjoys listening to music, watching movies, photography and studying geopolitics.
