BACKGROUND

1. Air Vice Marshal Alfred Olugbenga Shogbanmu was born in Lagos State on 7 October 1970. He hails from Mushin Local Government Area Council of Lagos State. He attended Ladipo Primary School, Lagos from 1976 – 1981 where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. Thereafter, he proceeded to Army Day Secondary School, Alamala Abeokuta, Ogun State where he obtained the Senior Secondary School Certificate in 1987. After his secondary education, he attended the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna as a member of the 41st Regular Course from 1989 – 1994. 

2. The Senior Officer’s educational qualifications include; Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Master of Philosophy in Security and Strategic Studies. He is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management. He has attended several military courses which include; Initial Supply Officers’ Course in 1996, Junior/Senior Staff Courses in 2001 and 2005 respectively and National Defence College, Abuja in 2017. Some of the appointments he has held include Administrative Officer 37 Technical Supply Wing, Kaduna, Officer in Charge Material Management and Accounting Squadron, Officer in Charge NAF Printing Press, Officer in Charge Transport Squadron all at 407 Equipment Supply Depot, Ikeja, Others are Accommodation Officer/Instructor, Nigerian Defence Academy. Staff Officer 1 Spares, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Staff Officer 1 Coordination, National Defence College, Directing Staff and Chief Instructor, Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Deputy Director Logistics Armed Forces Resettlement Centre Oshodi as well as Deputy Director Material Budgeting/Technical Supply at Headquarters Nigerian Air Force. He was also the Principal Staff Officer Logistics at Defence Intelligence College, Deputy Director Plans, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force and Director of Logistics, Nigerian Defence Academy. Others include Director of Logistics Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Director of Production Defence Headquarters, Deputy Commandant, Air Force Institute of Technology and currently the Chief of Logistics, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force.

3. He is married to Mrs Ekene Shogbanmu and the union is blessed with 4 children, 3 boys and a girl namely Oluwatobi, Ayomide, Oluwadamilola and Abisola. Hubbies include; reading and playing squash. His Email address is shogbenga@yahoo.com.
