BACKGROUND

1. AVM Patrick Babatunde Phillips was born into the family of Pst Oluyemisi and late Mrs Kosiwa Phillips on 18 March 1972. He hails from Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State and began his early education at Air Force Primary School Ikeja and Command Children School, Mokola Ibadan from 1975 to 1983. Thereafter, he attended the Nigerian Military School, Zaria from 1983-1988 and was admitted into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna in 1989 as a member of 41 Regular Course.
2. Babatunde was commissioned into the NAF in 1994 as a Plt Offr and was promoted AVM in December 2022. He has attended several military courses, some of which are Basic Regiment Offrs Course, Junior and Senior Staff Course at the Armed Forces and Command Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, International Subway Anti Hijack Seminar at China, Regimental Commanders Course at NASA Kachia and Program on Terrorism and Security Studies (PTSS) 12-16 at Germany as well as Improved Strategies for Inspection of Projects at Nelspruit South Africa. He also has a BSc Maths and Masters in International Affairs and Strategic Studies (MIASS) from the NDA as well as a Fellow of the National Defence College (NDC). The Snr Offr have also Personal MBA from the Pan African Leadership Institute where he has also done 8 leadership certificate courses in diverse fields as well as a honorary PhD and second PhD on Leadership and Strategic Studies at the NDA (in view).
3. Phillips has held several appointments since commission such as Senior Instructor (SI) Military Wing Air Force Military School (AFMS) Jos, Plateau State and Sector Commander covering 4 Local Governments in Benue State during the 2003 Election Internal Security Operations. In addition, he was a Directing Staff (DS) and Chief Instructor (CI) Senior Division (SD) at DAW AFCSC, Jaji. Furthermore, he served as Director of Regiment (DOREGT) at HQ NAF, COS SOC, Comd 213 FOB Badagry and Commandant Military Training Centre where he was Promoted to the rank of AVM. AVM Phillips also served as Commandant Regiment Training Centre as well as Coordinator Project Inspection and Monitoring Team HQ NAF where he oversees the inspection and monitoring the compliance to specification of all NAF projects.
4. AVM PB Phillips is married and blessed with 2 children. His hobbies include walking/jogging, reading and writing. He has co-authored with his wife, 12 books published at Xlibris USA in July 2015 namely OUT OF THE PIT, STAYING OUT OF PITS, HEAVEN ON EARTH and BEHOLD, BELIEVE, BECOME, BEGET. Others are SAVED AND SANCTIFIED TO SERVE, LEADERSHIP-A FAITH PERSPECTIVE, TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP, THE ABUNDANT LIFE as well as RIGHTS, RESPONSIBILITIES and REWARDS.
