CHIEF OF AIR INTELLIGENCE (CAI)

BACKGROUND

1.   Air Vice Marshal Dalhat Ladan was born on 15 June 1969 in Kaduna and hails from Nasarawa State. He is a Muslim and attended Command Children School Kaduna and Government Day Secondary School Tafawa Balewa way Kaduna for his primary and secondary school education before proceeding to the Nigerian Defence Academy where he had his military training and obtained his first degree in Physics.

2. Since graduation from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Air Vice Marshal Ladan has strived to improve himself academically. In 2004, he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute for Management and Public Administration and A Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy from Kaduna Polytechnic in 2008. He then obtained a Master in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice degree from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 2012 as well as a Master of Science degree in Strategic Studies from University of Ibadan in 2016. Soon after, Air Vice Marshal Ladan got a Master in Business Administration degree in Organizational Leadership from Salem University in 2022. He is currently a Doctor of Philosophy candidate in Security and Strategic Studies at the Nassarawa State University. The senior officer has attended several conferences within and outside the country. Some of these conferences include Protection of Civilians in conflict as well as International Peace Support Operations Course both at the Koffi Annan Peacekeeping Training Centre Ghana. Others are Internal Crises Management Course by University of Bradford and Strategic Leadership Workshop by the Air Force War College. He has the following decorations and awards, General Service Star, Distinguished Service, Pass Staff Course Dagger as well as Fellow of Defence College. 

3. During the course of his career, Air Vice Marshal Ladan has served in various capacities. Notable among them are Director of Information Technology as well as Director of Communications at Headquarters Nigerian Air Force during which he was responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the surveillance cameras on the Nigerian Air Force aircraft deployed to theatres of operation across the country. The senior officer also served as Commandant Air Force War College Nigeria as well as Directing Staff at National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies. He served as Director Technical Services at the Defence Intelligence Agency and Deputy Director General at Defence Research and Development Bureau. He is currently the Chief of Air Intelligence at Headquarters Nigerian Air Force where his responsibilities include providing credible intelligence in support of all Nigerian Air Force operation in the ongoing counterterrorism, counterinsurgency as well as anti-banditry and anti-illegal crude oil bunkering in the country. AVM D Ladan is happily married and blessed with 4 children. His hobbies include Playing Golf and Solving Puzzles.
