BACKGROUND

  1. Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Olorunmola Daramola was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria on 27 April 1971 as the fourth of the five children to Group Captain (retired) and Mrs Stephen O Daramola; both indigenes of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. The senior officer had his secondary education at Air Force Military School Jos from August 1982 to August 1987. In September 1987, he gained admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna as a member of the 39th Regular Course. He graduated from NDA with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Mathematics in September 1992 and was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force as a Pilot Officer. He was promoted to the rank of Air Commodore in 2016 and later Air Vice Marshal in 2020.

COURSES ATTENDED

    2. Air Vice Marshal Daramola has served in several

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Telecommunications.
  • Electronic Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife.
  • Master of Science in Telecommunications Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark New Jersey, USA.
  • National Security and War Course at the National Defence University Islamabad, Pakistan in 2015.

APPOINTMENT HELDS

     3. Air Vice Marshal Daramola has served in several NAF units in various capacities cutting across instructional, staff and command positions. Some of these appointments include:

  • Chief Instructor Electronics Engineering Maintenance School at the Air Force Institute of Technology Kaduna.
  • Directing Staff at the prestigious Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Nigeria.
  • Deputy Director Communications Headquarters Nigerian Air Force Abuja.
  • Director Legal Intercept Office of the National Security Adviser Abuja and Head Data Collection and Analysis Team and Mission Planning Cell of the Air Component of the then Operation LAFIYA DOLE (now Operation HADIN KAI) in Yola.
  • Commander 041 Communications Depot Shasha.
  • Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force.
  • Director of Plans at the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force Abuja.
  • Air Officer Commanding, Ground Training Command, Nigerian Air Force Enugu.
  • Currently the Chief of Communication and Information Systems, HQ NAF. 

    4. Air Vice Marshal Daramola is happily married to Mrs. Adenike Daramola and their union is blessed with 3 Children. He speaks and write French and his hobbies include reading,              watching movies and listening to gospel music.
