BACKGROUND

Air Vice Marshal Anthony Chidi Ekpe was born on 18 May 1968 at Port Harcourt, Rivers State and hails from Isiala Mbano, Imo State. He enlisted into the Nigerian Air Force as a member of Direct Regular Course 10 on 2 February 1998 and was commissioned Flight Lieutenant on 18 July 1998.

COURSES ATTENDED AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Senior Officer has attended several courses, conferences, scientific seminars and workshops and his qualifications include:

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria.

Diploma in General Surgery from the Second Military Medical University, Shanghai, China.

Certificate in Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Management from Sarousky Medical Centre, Tel Aviv, Israel.

Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in Family Medicine (FMCFM).

Passed Staff Course (psc) from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Nigeria.

AVM AC Ekpe has held several appointments some of which are:

Commanding Officer Medical at 041 CIS Depot Shasha, 305 SMG Calabar, 553 BSG Enugu and 013 QRF Minna.

Commanding Officer Clinical Wing at 461 NAFH Kaduna and 661 NAFH Ikeja.

Medical Officer at UNAMID Sudan.

Force Medical Officer at UNMIL Liberia.

Coordinator Veteran Affairs at DHML Abuja.

Commander, 461 Nigerian Air Force Hospital Kaduna.

Chief of Medical Services, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force Abuja. 

Director of Civil Military Relations, Defence Headquarters Abuja.

Currently the Chief of Medical Services, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force Abuja.

MARITAL STATUS AND HOBBIES

AVM AC Ekpe is happily married to Mrs Prisca Ekpe and the union is blessed with children. The Senior Officer enjoys walking, watching football and studying nature.
