BACKGROUND

1. Air Vice Marshal Clavartrinitas Uche Nwagwu is from Aboh-Mbaise LGA of Imo State. He attended the Shehu Garbai Primary School Maiduguri and the Federal Government College Minna from where he graduated in 1985. He proceeded to the Nigerian Defence Academy in 1987 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in 1993. Air Vice Marshal Nwagwu attended the Senior Executive Course 38 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies. The senior officer is an astute resource person. His major areas of interest are in Financial Law, Financial Management and Strategic Leadership.

APPOINTMENTS HELD

2. Air Vice Marshal Uche Nwagwu has served in a number of Units and in various capacities since he was commissioned. Prominent amongst these are Group Finance Officer, 305 Flying Training School Enugu and the 435 Base Services Group Ikeja. He also served at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, as a member of Directing Staff. While at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, he was equally the College Spokesman. Air Vice Marshal Nwagwu equally served as the Director of Finance, Presidential Implementation Committee on Maritime Safety and Security as well as Command Finance Officer, Headquarters Training Command Kaduna before he was appointed the Deputy Director Accounts, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force. He also served as the Deputy Director Budget and later, as Director of Accounts, all at the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force. The senior officer also served as the Director of Finance, Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji and thereafter as the Managing Director, Nigerian Air Force Investments Limited before his tenure as Directing Staff at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies. Air Vice marshal Nwagwu was the Director of Finance and Accounts at the Defence Research and Development Bureau, Nigeria before his current appointment as the Chief of Accounts and Budget, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force.

3. Air Vice Marshal Uche Nwagwu has the awards of the Forces Service Star, Meritorious Service Star, Distinguished Service Star, the Passed Staff College (Dagger) and member of the National Institute. He is a Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria (Chartered) and Member Institute of Directors.

MARITAL STATUS AND HOBBIES 

4. Air Vice Marshal Uche Nwagwu is happily married and blessed with children. He also has a lot of hobbies; prominent amongst them is volleyball, playing Scrabble and travelling.
