The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) has approached the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for collaboration in fulfilment of its roles towards alleviating the plights and resettlement of IDPs in the North East. The Honourable Federal Commissioner, Hajia Sadiya Farouq Umar led a delegation of the Commission to NAF Headquarters today. Hajiya Farouq, in her speech, stated that the delegation was on solidarity visit to the NAF to seek support for the IDPs.
In his response, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Mshl Sadique Abubakar express the willingness by the NAF to parley the commission to achieve her objectives. Air Mshl Abubakar informed the delegation that the NAF would provide airlift for the commission to ease movement of people and cargo in support its humanitarian activities within the North East as well as other parts of the country. This, the CAS said, is in addition to other areas of intervention where the Commission may need the assistance of the NAF to fulfil her mandate.
