The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has once again been commended for its efforts in fighting Boko Haram insurgency in the North East. The latest commendation came from the Executive Governor of Borno State, His Excellency, Alh Kashim Shettima. The Governor, in the company of his entourage, was at the NAF Headquarters today to pay a courtesy call on the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Mshl Sadique Abubakar. “We are here to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your contributions to the people of Borno State and Nigeria”, said the Governor. Alh Shettima expressed deep appreciation for the commitment the NAF has shown towards healthcare delivery to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other humanitarian supports, in addition to undertaking combat operations against the insurgents. While using the opportunity of his visit to commiserate with the military and families of those who lost their lives to the fight against insurgency in Borno State, Gov Shettima prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed.
The CAS, in his remarks, reassured His Excellency of NAF’s readiness to work with all stakeholders to restore peace and security to Borno State, stating that the NAF is committed to its strategy to carry the host communities along through provision of humanitarian supports.
