Event Update


The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has commissioned an additional set of projects aimed at enhancing the well being of personnel and their families in Ibadan. The CAS, who was represented by the Air Officer Commanding Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Ibrahim Yahaya, expressed delight at the completion of the additional projects which he stated was in furtherance of his promise during the commissioning of the Solar Hybrid Power project at the Air Force Comprehensive School, Ibadan on 18 May 2017. The additional projects commissioned today were the newly constructed and furnished 2 blocks of 4 classrooms as well as the Corporals and below Mess at 671 NAF Detachment Ibadan consisting of a main mess hall, cool room, dining hall, kitchen and 4 guest rooms for personnel on transit.

According to Air Marshal Abubakar, the provision of adequate barracks accommodation and messes as well as the upgrading of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) schools and hospitals was to ensure that families of NAF personnel were well catered for with a view to motivating them for optimal performance. “This enhanced performance has been particularly evident in our ability to ensure effective air power delivery in the counterinsurgency operations in the Northeast”, he added. The CAS then conveyed his appreciation to the Federal Government whose constant support and provision of resources have been responsible for the many successes being recorded in the NAF.
