Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command

1.      Air Vice Marshal Saddiq Isnaila Kaita was born in Katsina, Katsina State on 12 February 1965. He attended Gobarau Primary School Katsina from 1970 to 1974, Capital School Sokoto, 1974 to 76 and Capital School Kaduna 1976 to 1977 for his primary education. Thereafter, he went to Kings College Lagos and Government College Katsina from 1977 to 1982 for his secondary education. He was admitted into The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) as a member of 34 Regular Course in June 1983 and passed out in December 1986 as a Pilot Officer in the Nigerian Air Force.

2.      He had his Ab-initio Flying Training at 301 Flying Training School (FTS) Kaduna from May 1988 to October 1988 and Basic Flying Training  at 303 FTS Kano from 1990 to 1992. He was posted back to 301 FTS and underwent instructor pilot training on ABT-18 primary flying trainer in 1994, then Dornier 228 Conversion Course in 1998. The Senior Officer attended Junior and Senior Division Staff Course at Armed Forces Command and Staff Course Jaji in 1996 and 2002 respectively. He attended the National Defence College Bangladesh where he had his fellowship and the ndc symbol with a Masters in Strategic Studies (MSS) in 2012.

3.      AVM Kaita served as Staff Officer at the United Nation Mission in Sierra Leone from 2000 to 2001. After that, he was posted back to 301 FTS as Instructor and Line Pilot on the ABT-18 and DO-228 respectively. He was posted to Presidential Air Fleet (PAF) Abuja in June 2004 as a line pilot. He went for initial training on Boeing 737 BBJ in December 2005, Falcon 900 initial training in December 2007 and Falcon 7x in August 2011. He is a Captain on the falcon 900, 7x, Boeing 737NG and 500. He served at the Presidential Air Fleet (PAF) as the Fleet Training Officer and later Commander, 209 Executive Airlift Group (EAG) from 2013 to 2015. He was transferred back to PAF as Fleet Operations Officer in 2015 and assumed command of the Presidential Air Fleet in the same year. He has a total of 4,500 flying hours.

4.      Kaita was promoted in December 2016 to the rank of Air Vice Marshal and posted to Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force as the Director of Manuals. He also served as the Air Officer Commanding, Special Operations Command.  He was later appointed as the Air Officer Commanding, Ground Training Command.

5.      The Senior Officer is married and the marriage is blessed with 4 children (2 boys and 2 girls). His hobbies include playing tennis and watching football.
